Born in Oxfordshire 1974, educated in North Somerset and Leeds. Following graduation a period of subsistence living as an artist (exhibiting in galleries, theatres, cafes etc while selling at a craft market and shops) gave way to a stint as a junior graphic designer. Now employed in an unrelated capacity, Jeremy works exclusively in ‘spare’ time, and in his favoured medium of watercolour. He has painted in the medium since childhood. He views watercolour as hugely challenging; a vocation, greatly rewarding on the rare occasions that the artist and medium harmonise for the subject. He hopes that these occasions are more than coincidence, claiming that "walking alone in the wildernesses of our landscapes" is his greatest pleasure. Through his painting, he attempts to capture the allure of the elements, in the hope of passing on the uplift and inspiration gleaned from them. Accepted by Bristol Savages as a member in Feb 2009. |
