Born in 1939 in Thorpe, Essex. Business career encompassing British Aerospace, Ford Motor Company, BL/Rover Group and BAT Industries, being Personnel Director of Mardon Packaging International in Bristol, also a Management Consultant. Became a full time artist in 1990, although still doing part time consultancy. Joined Bristol Savages in 1990. Published 3 books, Impressions of Bristol, Painting Towns and Cities & Waterside Landscapes. Published greeting cards. Mounts an annual exhibition at his home, The Old Vicarage, Bisley, Gloucestershire. Exhibitions in London and the Provinces. Exhibited with the RSMA and the RBA. Paints in oils, acrylics and watercolours. He has held residential summer courses in painting at his home. His former hobby was yachting, but he sold his yacht when he bought The Old Vicarage. His wife Sibyl has developed very successfully a form of Decorative Folk Art”, has published a book and holds her own exhibitions at Bisley. Moved to Rodley, near Westbury-on-Severn. Sadly died of a heart attack whilst out cycling, 4 December 2009.
