Born in London, April 1940 and moved 6 weeks later to Somerset, where he was educated at Burnham on Sea and then King`s Bruton, finally qualifying at the RWA School of Architecture with B/S Patrick Collins and where B/S Tom Burrough lectured on the History of Architecture. He became a partner in his father`s architectural practice in 1964 working in London, Weston super Mare and Bristol, eventually retiring from the practice after 36 years to set up his own practice, at the same time gaining a Diploma in Architectural Conservation at Bristol University. Architecture has predominated Local Authority Housing, Courage`s Brewery and Headquarters at Staines, and the Spectrum Building. There was time for cricket and hockey, (President of the Bristol Hockey Club) playing with and against B/S Sir Hugh Smith Marriot, Alex MacLang, Ian Rose, Ian Lindsay and Peter Harrison. Sketching and painting commenced in the mid 1980s and naturally concentrated on urban scenes as well as rural subjects. The culmination of the rural interest was a book of Regil, in which every building and the history of the village was recorded in pencil, pen and watercolour.
