James Coleman was elected an artist member of the Savages in 1964. Little is known of him other than that he lived at Southwood Drive, Coombe Dingle, and was an art master at Filton High School. He was also a musician, a violinist of some talent specialising in Irish Jigs. In 1966 he held a one-man exhibition at Weston- Super- Mare, where he moved in 1970 when he resigned his membership.
