Born in Bristol, May 20 1940. His great-grandfather painted the Royal Coach! Educated at Connaught Road School and then at Brunel Technical College where he did an electrical technicians` course and qualified as an electrical technician. He was taught craftsmanship by Terry Cleeve. His occupation was as an electrical technician until 1981 when he became an artist, specialising mostly in pastel. He has had one man shows at Rooksmoor (Bath), at the Street Galleries, at Wells City Museum, at Farmborough Gallery (Bath), at Bristol Guild (shared) and at Nailsea Gallery. He has also showed at Congresbury, Lochgilphead, Brecon, etc. Asked about his views on art in general, he likes most styles from impressionist to modern expressionism. In music his tastes are classical, mostly orchestral and choral. In literature his tastes are quite basic. He is married with two children. He gives his hobbies as fuschia growing, ornithology, especially wildfowl. Used to play club cricket with St. Mary Redcliffe. (G. F. C.)
