Son of Ernest Andrews and a student at Swindon College of Art, where he met and courted Diana Fluke, later to become famous as the actress Diana Dors. Served in the Royal Navy where he played drums in the Royal Navy Dance Band the Blue Jackets. He joined E. S. and A. Robinson as a graphic designer with Edwin Penny. Left Robinson’s to become a studio manager at Alan Davis and Son`s studio. Later became freelance. Exceptionally fine figure artist, he worked on various accounts for London Agencies including illustrating serials for Eagle Comic. He was engaged to play a leading role in James Dewars` Television Documentary on the Masonic Movement (He was not himself a Mason and apparently no Masons were persuaded to contribute to it). This led him to spend most of his time acting in various television productions. He died tragically of a sudden heart attack. (Cecil Broome)
