Came to Bristol from Norwich in 1904 and was the son of Peter Marshall, also an artist. Prior to coming to Bristol he had been a member of the Norwich Art Circle since its inception and had worked prolifically in Norfolk. He had exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Rayne Institute of Water Colour painters and the Royal Society of British Artists. It was natural that he would be present at the early meeting as a foundation member. He lived at 75, Pembroke Rd. Clifton and was active in the Wigwam until 1915. He was elected President in 1910. He left Bristol in 1915 and went to live in Minehead where he died in 1935. He contributed to the Bongie Portfolio and we possess 6 of his evening sketches. He is portrayed in framed pictures no’s 27 and 51. (Cecil Broome)
